At a dinner with all three of my friends

This is the speech I gave to my three friends
49 years ago my great adventure started
I met Okada in California then Kitano in Nanao
47 years ago I met Yamamoto in Kyoto.
At that time we were young men. Now we are old men
All of you changed my life
Always for the better
We have stayed in touch in many ways
You have visited me in the USA and met my family. I met your family
I was given a new gift from igo
To come again and meet my fine friends in Japan
For all that time, almost 50 years you have given me kindness, special knowledge, generosity, and happiness. I know I owe you all very much.
I introduce Hideki as my Japanese brother, but I feel we are all brothers now
Thank you for being an important part of my life for almost 50 years. I always remember you, and hope to continue meeting, perhaps in Japan, perhaps in Santa Fe.
