The National Museum

Today we went to the National Museum in Ueno Park.  It is one of the great museums of the world. My friend is mostly interested in archaeology of Japan. We saw their wonderful exhibits. History goes back tens of thousands of years here in Japan. It was fun that he was showing me arrowheads because I brought some from New Mexico. There also was a collection of small netsuke. This is interesting because our family has collected them over the years. John got some from his mother's side of the family. This was a collection of  contemporary ones. There also is interesting art calligraphy and porcelains over the years. Going outside, it's a happy, upbeat park for the families. I also used my New Mexico drivers license to prove I was over 70 and  got a reduced rate.
We had dinner at the Okada  home. We showed each other photo albums and pictures from 49 years ago. It was a wonderful meal that Fumiko worked hard on. I love being with old friends connecting after all this time.
